Sushil, is a PhD Scholar passionate to expand knowledge in the area of education and school accountability. Currently working as a Project Manager in Sisters for Sisters’ Education Project in VSO Nepal since April, 2019. He had experience working with Government of Nepal from 1994 to 2019 in different managerial roles: including School Supervisor, Technical Officer, Programme Officer, and Teacher Trainer. His latest contribution to education sector was serving to Government of Nepal as Under-Secretary in Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST).
His extensive experience in the sector includes policy formulation, planning, budgeting, and implementation of government led education sector programme in local, district, provincial and federal level. He has closely worked with other line agencies and non-government organisations in his tenure in Government of Nepal. In this journey, he was able to lead some innovative activities in his workplace such as; school mapping through GIS, office automation system establishment in the ministry etc.
As a Project Manager, he has been managing huge project interventions where youth volunteers named as ‘Big Sisters’ and ‘Adult Champion’ in the implementing communities are taking action for the overall development of ‘Little sisters’. In this journey, he has been managing implementing partners and working very closely with communities, school and local government.
